This November, Creative Nigeria Project will host the city of Lagos to an exciting evening of harmonies and memories, featuring a cultural constellation and artistic fest of sophisticated entertainment. It offers the rare delight of listening to an exciting mix of timeless favorite old school Lagos hit songs, performed as covers with contemporary twists of Jazz, Classical, Afro Beat, Neo-soul, Reggae, Blues, by some of Nigeria’s best.

This event holds a remarkable proposition of audible pleasure for audience as the evening will have a kaleidoscope of 2 riveting stage plays, avante-garde Art Exhibition (Eko L’Ano, Eko L’Oni, Eko L’Ola), interspersed between spoken word monologues, unplugged sessions and giveaways.

The artistic fest is the launch of a series of event set to highlight Lagos to the world. While speaking at the Soiree, the Creative Director, Lily Adimefe said “The plan is to engage the millions of talented and creative youths all over Nigeria who share a sense of belonging to Lagos, using their creativity to amplify the beauty and character of Lagos to the world.”
Eko, The Musical event will run for three (3) months and comprises a theatre musical, art exhibition, music competition, short story competition, a photography contest and short film/documentary festival-all of international standard. These events will culminate in a Broadway-style theatre production holding in March, 2014.

This event is put together by Creative Nigeria, a dynamic platform designed to harness the boundless creative energies and talents of the youth to drive social reformation by staging world-class theatre, concerts, festivals and artistic events that promote the creative and cultural industry in Nigeria and capture the best of Nigerian content for a global audience. Creative Nigeria is all about bringing strong intellectual content to entertainment to make it as empowering as it is entertaining.
While speaking at the soiree organized to intimate stakeholders, the Creative Director of Creative Nigeria, Lily Adimefe said “Our passion is to redefine entertainment by telling Africa’s untold stories-this time, the story of Lagos, Africa’s future city”.
She also mentioned that the different activities will roll first quarter of next year. She explained further that “The short story competition uses the art of storytelling to explore the comical side of Lagos as well as inspirational stories of courage and triumphing against all odds. The documentary competition is designed to allow residents of the Lagos to tell their own story. Every area has a unique personality- from Lekki to Ajegunle, from Ikeja to Oshodi, from Surulere to Olosa, from Badagry to Epe -and shows us what makes Lagos such an incredible place to live.
