Miley Cyrus has been getting a lot of slack and Buzz for her recent antics, which include twerking, backing her bum up on a very married Robin Thick, and of course Twerking every chance she gets. It’s easy to say twerking has been around for a very long time but in recent times, Miley Cyrus made it even more popular with twerk videos being uploaded to YouTube a dime a dozen. The video for her song “We can’t stop“ released June 19, showed Miley and her friends’ twerking their way through parts of the 3minute plus video. She followed up the controversial video months later with even more controversy, twerking against Robin Thick’s man bits at the 2013 VMA’s. The media of course, went wild in a MileyTwerk Frenzy. Her video for her No 1 Single “Wrecking Ball” was released soon after and it has till date gotten over 250 million views.

But is Miley Cyrus really the Queen of twerking? In my opinion No. I’m thinking twerking is meant to be sexy, in my opinion she looks trashy when she twerks with only one or two instances of her looking bearable. Maybe it’s the tongue she sticks out, maybe I just can’t get Hanna Montana out of my head. Maybe it’s the fact that her butt doesn’t even move, (Isn’t your butt mean to jiggle a little when you twerk?). Watching her twerking just doesn’t look appealing to me. So if Miley can’t twerk, what pop diva can? And does your twerking ability really count? I say yes but the numbers say no.

Few weeks after her stunt another daring pop diva, Rihanna, released the official video for her song “Pour it up” and it seemed she was on a mission to show the world and Miley Cyrus how to twerk. Oct. 2 marked the day when Rihanna showed, even for her standard, an incredible raunchy side of herself. Clad in a bejeweled costume, sitting on a throne (was that a Miley sub?), Rihanna, in her usual sexiness way twerked and sang her through our imagination. Was it sexy? Heck Yeah!
Rihanna may not be her boss in numbers, but she is her boss in Twerking skills but for the sake of argument and because numbers do not lie, we will have to give it to Miley Cyrus as the current Queen of Twerking your way to Number 1 with over 250 million YouTube views versus Rihanna’s 57 million YouTube views. Considering the fact that Miley’s video came out in June and Rihanna’s in October, she obviously had a great lead so who knows, Rihanna may still catch up and be her boss in twerking and numbers. What we would like to see is a twerk off between the two divas. I’m sure a lot of men would pay top dollar to see that.
